Part A Hormones
Every woman (you) are
beautifully and wonderfully made: Psalm
139:13-14. For you formed my inward parts; you covered me in my
mother's womb. I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are your works, and that my soul
knows very well.
I relate this scripture to your Hormones because
they too are wonderful and powerful – they are ‘the essence of a Woman’!
Hormones are the very substances that make you what you are: Defining you’re…
•
Women hood
•
Personality
•
Self esteem
•
Sex drive
•
Mental acuity
•
Creativity
•
Reproduction
•
Falling in love
•
Your psyche is intimately
connected to your hormones, to your cycle
•
Your physical – emotional
and psychological state & quality of life is hinging on whether your hormones
are in a healthy state (balanced).
Exaggerating the importance of hormones to each
human being is almost impossible. In my clinical opinion – the current state of
a women’s health is mirrored in her hormone balance, menstrual cycle and the
different health symptoms that go with it.
What are
Hormones?
They are chemicals secreted by our endocrine
(glandular) system. These secretions are like signals or messengers, which
travel to and fro throughout our bodies; to tell us internally what to do and when
to do it.
Literally our bodies are run by Hormones.
We are created by God to have a well functioning
hormone network and this is a ‘blessing’,
a wonderful thing.
However, dysfunctional hormones can make them
seem like a ‘curse’ to some
women.
At least half of reproductive-age women suffer
from painful menstrual cramps that begin shortly before the start of menstrual
flow and continue for several days. The problems come when the natural balance
of your hormones change.
‘I feel like a nutcase, constantly stressed,
anxious and unhappy’, ‘I have to take a day or two off work and lay down all
day due to pain and suffering I get at my monthly time’, (Severe menstrual cramps are actually among the most common reasons for
missed work and school days among young women). ‘I don’t want to take pain killers but just
have to’, ‘ I’m wanting to have kids and am worried I can’t because my hormones
are stuffed up’, ‘ I get so sensitive and angry or teary every month, what can
I do about it?’ are just some comments I get from female patients at my
clinic.
Recently in my clinic a well educated lady in
her 30’s (I will call her Kim) with 2 young children said that she
‘completely lost it’ at work and started yelling and abusing her work mates
–‘ for no real reason’ – other than her period had just started’. The good
news is that after following the treatments advice I am offering you –
within 2 months Kim was a ‘New Women’ and very happy and no more hormonal
outbursts.
This demonstrates the all-powerful effects that
female hormonal conditions can have, leaving a women feeling totally out of
control in her own body. It also demonstrates that you can fix the problem
using natural therapies.
Keeping in mind that hormones are a ‘blessing’
and a gift from God then any adverse symptoms are warning signs that something
is wrong. Rest assured there are answers to any problems you may have and my
job and Ministry is to teach you and show you God’s answers and natural
counterbalances to any symptoms you may have.
I will be doing this through a series of articles in this magazine. The
Word of God says, “My people are destroyed for a lack of knowledge”
(Hosea 4:6). This teaching is to be at least in part an answer to this profound
statement of God. From this scripture we can be certain that it is wise to
increase our knowledge; especially knowledge that is from God and for the
health and well being of our body (which is the temple of the Holy Spirit).
PMS (pre menstrual syndrome) and Period Pain:
Do you suffer?
Bad period pain?
Acne
Tender
breasts
Bloating
Food
cravings
Mood
swings
Anxiety
or depression
You shouldn’t have to.
Ø Period pain is very common so women tend
to think it just goes with the territory of having a monthly cycle. However
this is not the case as most ‘normal’ period discomfort/pain will disappear
with the right diet and herbal supplements.
If it doesn’t disappear after 2-3 cycles, then it’s not normal
period pain. It’s what I call level two period pains and might be a sign
of an underlying medical condition like endometriosis.
Next addition I will conclude this topic (Part B) and discuss the miracle working herbs God has created
to counterbalance hormonal problems and assist you to live a healthy and pain
free life. I will explain the importance of diet and nutrition for helping keep
a healthy hormone balance.
